(Psalm 37:1-13)
Do not be agitated by evildoers, envy those who do wrong, be agitated by one who prospers in his way, by the man who carries out evil plans, give into anger, hold onto rage, be agitated (at all), scheme against the righteous, or gnash your teeth at the righteous.
Or else you will wither quickly like grass, wilt like tender green plants, be brought harm, be destroyed, be no more in just a little while, nowhere to be found, and be laughed at by the LORD because He sees that his day is coming.
Do trust in the LORD (x2), what is good, dwell in the land, cultivate faithfulness, take delight in the LORD, commit you way to the LORD, be silent before the LORD, wait expectantly for Him, and hope in the LORD.
Then He will give you your heart’s desires, He will act, making your righteousness shine like the dawn, your justice like noonday, you will inherit the earth (x2), and you will enjoy abundant prosperity.
How do we do the “do’s” and receive the blessings rather than do the “do not’s” and receive the ills? Psalm 37:39-40 is the answer.
The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD, their refuge in a time of distress. The LORD helps and delivers them; He will deliver them from the wicked and save them because they take refuge in Him.
